Floyd A. Norris

Biography
Floyd A. Norris was a long-time office manager of the AIEE. He was hired by the Institute at age 15 in September 1904, and was employed for 50 years until his retirement on October 30, 1954. He held the title of Head Clerk as early as 1916, Secretary in 1917 and Office Manager from 1922. A long-time resident of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, Norris served as a member of the Borough Council between 1929 and 1932, a member of the Board of Education from 1933 to 1935, and was an Elder of the First Reformed Church in Hasbrouck Heights. Norris died on November 16th, 1967 at South Bergen Hospital, and was interred at the Lutheran Cemetery (now All Faiths Cemetery) in Middle Village, Queens, NY.
